Day 2 | 7 Days Wildlife & Hiking AdventureDay 1 Your safari guide will pick you from your hotel and depart by road through Uganda’s rolling green hills to Lake Mburo National Park (the drive will take approximately 3-4 hours). You will have a stopover at the Equator for a photographic opportunity and also listen to some few interesting facts. We will continue to Hotel Brovad Masaka where we will have our lunch before making our final descent to Lake Mburo. Lake Mburo National Park is an extension of the Tanzanian plains with big herds of zebra, impala, eland and other ungulates. Bird viewing opportunities are excellent – for birders, this is one of the best places to find African fin foot, papyrus bush shrike. After checking in, you will take a late afternoon game drive or a canoe ride on Lake Mburo. If the tour is conducted on a Wednesday or Saturday, you can enjoy the market day that brings together people from as far as Rwanda. You may also get treated to local dances by the forest pygmy tribe known as the Batwa. Return for lunch at BSR. Spend the rest of the day swimming, hiking or just watching the otters and waterbirds. You could also spend the time visiting the hot springs, ironsmiths and waterfalls in Kabale district and Kisiizi. In the evening, you may take a canoe ride on the lake to watch the elusive otters and water birds. Or you may take a hike on one of the hills to get a good view of the surrounding volcanoes, hills and town. |
